Johanna was born in Poland and grew up in Austria and Germany – a path shaped by diversity, new beginnings, and the courage to think differently. Her career began at major advertising agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather, before she moved into industry and took over marketing for an international software company.

With the birth of her two sons in 2005 and 2007, she sought more flexibility and began working as a freelancer – a step that would turn out to be the beginning of something much bigger. Together with her brother Ben, she started implementing digital projects for agencies. They quickly realized how essential transparent communication and professional quality were. Instead of settling for half-baked solutions, they chose to forge their own path and take responsibility for high-quality, honest digital work.
This is how Garage51 was born – without startup loans and without initial capital.
