Background
Sera Babakus has been in Germany since 2012. Born half-American, half-Turkish, she studied political science and communications in the USA. In 2023, she founded “Sera Babakus Verlag & Events” with the brand “LEYANA Magazin”. The print magazine focuses on arriving in Germany from the perspective of international women and offers tips, inspiration and community around the female migration experience.

Starting a business is a continuous field of tension between dynamism and calm. You control the process and decide when you or your company need(s) what pace.
I love words, writing and messages. But I had to adjust to numbers, data, facts and learn to talk about money. You can’t do without it.
